TRASHION is an art project by Dutch designer and activist Alba Tijm.

Since studying fashion design in her hometown of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Alba has been driven by the need to bring attention to the inhumane practices which go on within the fast fashion industry.

The fast fashion industry is not only environmentally polluting, it is also racist, sexist and anti-human rights.
By creating small collections using only found materials Alba hopes to inform people on how we contribute to the ever polluting industry that is fast fashion.

During the exhibit, Alba will be hosting a number of sewing classes in order to introduce people to up-cycling and repairing. The sewing classes are donation based so that everyone has the option to experience and learn.

The exhibit includes sewing workshops, a clothing swap and three documentary viewings. Sign up for any of these events and opening night on www.trashion.art or pop by at 107 in Redfern!

TRASHION: THE EXHIBIT is opening at 107 in Redfern, NSW on January 11th and will run for two weeks.

Opening night 11th January 2022 from 6pm - 10pm.

Clothing swap: 15 Jan 2022, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
