THE CHRISTMAS SHOW by 107 Projects
107 Projects presents "The Christmas Show" - an exhibition of beautiful artist-made Christmas trees and decorations inspired by Australia.

Too often we see Christmas in Australia taking inspiration from the European and American 'White Christmas'. It makes little sense to have fir tree garlands, sweaty santas or fake snow decorating an event that Australians truly love. The Australian landscape in summer offers a smorgasbord from which to take inspiration. We own our traditions, so it follows that we surround ourselves with relevant and beautiful Christmas trimmings at this time of year.

Please come along to the opening of this inaugural end of year exhibition at 107 Projects to find the perfect Christmas tree for your home, decoration or gift for someone special. With over 30 participating local artists, working in the widest range of mediums, this show promises an exceptional standard of beauty, whimsy and Christmas magic. The opening will include performances from local wordsmiths, musicians and choral performers as well as sound art pieces inspired by the Australian bush.

The wonderful Roger Foley-Fogg, famous for his 'Darling Harbour Christmas Tree of Light' has generously donated a prize for best in show. This will be announced at the opening night.

Opening Night Thursday 13th December 6-9pm
Exhibition Open Thursday - Sunday from noon - 5pm until Sunday 23rd December
