COST: $30

TICKETS: Eventbrite

VENUE: Joynton Avenue Creative Centre

In this short film hackathon, you’ll learn all the fundamentals of storytelling through film, from a range of creative filmmaking mentors.

From concept development, to storyboarding, to filming techniques, sound and editing, you’ll work in small teams to create short films that focus on stories in the local area around Green Square. At the end of the workshop, you'll have a short film that you've created, along with the knowledge and confidence to keep telling stories using your mobile phone.

Schedule:

Day 1 - Friday 16th April, 7-9pm - meet the mentors, form your teams and start developing your ideas.

Day 2 - Saturday 17th April, 10-5pm - learn about filming techniques, sound, lighting and storyboarding, before you spend the afternoon shooting your story.

Day 3 - Sunday 18th April, 10-5pm - work with your mentors to review your footage and edit your short film in time for our Sunday afternoon screening!

What to bring:

Your smart phone (one with a headphone jack or a converter), and phone charger. If you don't have a phone available to you, please let us know in advance so we can arrange alternatives.

We will have some laptops available for editing, or you can bring your own along on Sunday.

These workshops are a part of 107’s Joynton Avenue Creative Program, proudly funded by NSW Government through My Community Project.
