Regeneration

Blue Mountains artists, Kevina-Jo Smith and Louisa Clayton present Regeneration, an exhibition of video, installation and paintings responding to social movements of empowerment and environmental protection. Colourful yet bleak, fun yet serious, they hope to disturb the culture of passivity by creating uncomfortable, absurd and abstract scenes juxtaposed with powerful images of beauty, hope and inspiration.  A collaborative debut, the video work depicts a surreal and dream like world wherein young women re-inhabit a landscape previously ravished by bushfire. The process of creating this video together allowed Kevina and Louisa to share conceptual, philosophical and aesthetic influences which in turn guided their individual practice and inspired this exhibition.
