Join us in celebrating the grass roots nature of the blues music scene from Redfern to Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans. This world is made up of an incredible mix humans with diverse skills and a shared obsession for music.

The exhibition documents the people places that this music has made.

It reflects the diverse nature of the soul of peoples. With over 40 years of photographs and chapters of a book to explore, you will be engaged in the history and sounds of the blues movement.

The exhibition is completed by a TBA line up of well known and experienced musicians + emerging acts.

Brian Cook has an integral part of the music community from Redfern to New Orleans since the 1970s. His obsession with sound is only match by his obsession with capturing the live performances. His lens has captured iconic moments like time capsules in the history of musics evolution. He is a Redfern local who remains committed to the art, this exhibition is only the tip of iceberg of what his captured over many decades.

Marlene Cummings is also a Redfern local with an international career than spans more tham 50 years. Her voice, stories and ability to connect with diverse audiences breaks down barriers and brings music the forefront. Marlene is a multi-disciplinary artist whose paintings, films, live paintings and music tells insightful stories of courage, bravery and resistance.
