The NOW now series: Final
the NOW now series presents: A final series concert for 2016 - the heavy hitters.
Three sets of radical percussion improvisations and installations to celebrate the end of the year.
7:00 Evan Mannell & Miles Thomas
Drum kit duet with two of Sydney's most open-minded, diverse and astute drummers. They love each other, but may not admit that. Centre of the room. Face-off.
8:15 Claire Edwardes, Holly Conner & Clayton Thomas
The full arsenal of the percussive and propulsive will be on display as these three high-velocity engines of spontaneous composition hit the stage. A first time meeting of the times.
9:30 Matthias Schack-Arnott(Melbourne)
Matthias is coming to Sydney to present the NSW premiere of ‘Fault Traces’, a percussion solo that uses waves of deep bass to activate an immersive vibrational sound world with found objects. The Guardian called it ‘visually and sonically exquisite’. I said: "Think music on a long thin wire meets Milford Graves." Featuring Tilman Robinson on sound.
20% of proceeds go the Asylum Seekers Centre in Newtown.
