Meaningful Movies Amnesty International invite you to join them for the prelude to Snow Monkey, ‘Love City, Jalalabad (2013)’. It’s a funny and wild documentary about freedom of expression, art, war, individual stories and just pure fun! It also depicts how the progressive youth of Afghanistan are rejecting the use of armed force and see film production as an alternative means of bringing peace, love and social change to their war-torn occupied country (IMDB). George Gittoes forms an artists’ collective in the western Afghan city of Jalalabad - a province long controlled by the Taliban. So what were the results? Come and find out at the end of the movie.

Director-George Gittoes-Australian born filmmaker, war photographer, artist, activist and humanitarian. Winner of Sydney Peace Prize in 2015.

We couldn't be more happy that the director: George Gittoes will join us to introduce the movie and share his experiences from his humanitarian and artistic work in war zones such as Somalia, Rwanda, Bosnia.

Partner Singer/Performance and Assistant Director of ‘Love City, Jalalabad’- Hellen Rose will do a short performance representing the Women’s team of ‘The Yellow House Jalalabad’ and sing in Pashto the language of the Khyber Pakhtun Khwar.
