Redfern Street is going to come alive as the City of Sydney brings Sydney Streets to Redfern, and 107 Redfern will be in the thick of it! Sydney Streets in Redfern will herald in our Made in Redfern program of creative events, which will celebrate the artists and community members who have called Redfern home. We will be hosting the popular 107 BBQ & bar, launching a new exhibition featuring artists who have come up through 107's residency programs called Multi Story Building. There will also be a DJ out the front, clothes swap upstairs, and activities for the whole family. We'll be hosting Art Somewhere drop-in screen printing and badge making workshops. So bring a t-shirt or tote-bag to 107 Redfern along with your community spirit and let's be loud, proud and local together!
107 Projects is kicking off our Made in Redfern festival at the City of Sydney’s Sydney Streets party on Redfern Street on the 11th of March. Made In Redfern is a month-long program of fun, creative and delicious events for everyone to enjoy. Celebrating people, places and organisations, join us in amplifying Redfern pride by connecting to one of the city’s most meaningful suburbs.
We will have two drop-in art workshops running as part of Sydney Streets: Redfern Street, where people of all ages can create and take home their very own piece of wearable Made in Redfern art.
Our popular 107 BBQ and bar will be running during the day, with all proceeds going to support 107 as Redfern’s local, inclusive charity, where everything we do loops back into supporting the creative wellbeing of our communities. From 12:30 pm until we run out of sausage sandwiches!
From 6pm we invite everyone to celebrate the creative past, present and future of 107 Projects at the exhibition Opening Night for Multistory Building, with artworks and performance by 107 Redfern alumni including Rosie Deacon, Chris Hancock, and Believe.
11am - Trashion Clothes Swap, on the 107 Rooftop
12pm - 2:30pm - Made in Redfern Drop-in Screen Printing Workshop - BYO t-shirt. By donation, in the 107 Social Space
12:30pm - 107 BBQ and Bar , in the 107 Social Space until we run out of sausage sandwiches!
2pm - 4pm - Colour Your Own Made In Redfern Badge. By donation, in the 107 Social Space
6pm-8pm - Multistory Building Exhibition Opening Night, in the 107 Gallery
