'Burning the Library of Life' is a phrase used to describe worldwide biodiversity loss. Biodiversity is important. What can we do to help?

Come along to two free workshops in July 2021 giving an insight into urban biodiversity and some practical steps to help biodiversity in Sydney. Or receive a 10% discount for an Australian Native Food Gardens course at Camperdown Pocket Farms in August. (Offer limited to first 20 bookings)

All three events will include an opportunity to put forward suggestions for a mural on biodiversity to be painted in Camperdown later in the year.

Workshop 1 - Indigenous Approaches to Biodiversity

Join Aboriginal Landcare Officer Ciaron Dunn to hear about different perspectives on urban ecology. Ciaron will be telling stories of soil and water; it's importance and practical steps we can all take to make a difference.

Find out more and book into the Indigenous Approaches to Biodiversity workshop here.

Workshop 2 - Caring for Wildlife in Urbanised Areas

Join Ecology Project Officer Viveca McGhie and learn how to attract and care for wildlife in urbanised areas. Viveca will talk about wildlife and urban biodiversity; it's importance, the threats it faces and practical steps we can all take to make a difference. Ways to get involved in citizen science and wildlife monitoring programs will also be covered.

Australian Native Food Gardens

Learn how to identify and grow native food plants while also providing habitat and forage for wildlife and increasing biodiversity in the urban context. You'll also be shown how to use local species in your cooking or for medicinal use at home.

Pocket City Farms is a Community and Education Hub in the heart of Sydney. Their focus is on providing local communities a vibrant, green and open space to learn and connect around fair food and nature.
