Expect the unexpected as Kino Sydney throws open its screen to our diverse scene of local filmmakers to premiere their madcap, creative, and always inventive short films.

Cheer on short films, gain insights from our Q&As and industry talk, chill out to live music from La Vif, feel content on pizza and popcorn, and try your luck on our giveaways.

Tickets are only $10 with all programming and food inclusive. Screening filmmakers get in free.

Want to screen?

In September, Kino will be accepting both open-screen films and documentary films. One free entry per film.

Open Screen

Use Kino as a space to hone your craft, test how a joke works with our audience, or screen a film as a calling card to meet collaborators amongst our community. We ask only that films are under 6 minutes; no ads or home videos; not available online.

Documentary

Screen a documentary 3 minutes or less in September. Be eligible for an Audience Award. Prizes include: $200 equipment hire voucher; a day pass for Sydney Underground Film Festival; and more to be confirmed.
