Brandon Allen Band (9:30pm)

Brandon Allen moved to the UK from his native Australia in 2000 and since then has firmly established himself on the UK Jazz Scene. His technical brilliance, originality of ideas and masterful control of his instrument have ensured him a place amongst the top players in this country. His jazz work has included playing with Jools Holland, Liane Caroll, Dennis Rollins, Carleen Anderson, John Etheridge, Guy Barker, Claire Martin, Stan Tracey, Pete King and several bands of his own. He has also played with Eric Clapton, The Blockheads, Hamish Stuart and numerous others in a wide variety of genres. He hosts the Late Show at London's Ronnie Scott's every Wednesday and is the founder and director of the Highgate Jazz with Soul Festival.

This will be the quartet’s first gig for the year, and they’ll be playing a typically diverse range of material, featuring songs from their self titled CD along with a number of new pieces. As usual, the repertoire will be both contemporary and accessible, and allow for plenty of creative interaction.
