James Harney Rooftop Garden Exhibition

The installation draws inspiration from the leaf structures, colours and movement of the plants found in the 107 rooftop garden. The outcome was influenced by Matisse's cut-out paper artworks and the paintings of Charles Thomas O'Neil, both of whom I’m currently obsessed with at the moment.

James Harney is a Sydney based graphic designer and artist.

He has gained his experience working across a number of design studios and institutions, developing a broad network from professional interactions, freelance engagements and other key stakeholders from the Sydney creative community.

Harney couples his design skills with an established art practice, developing and engaging ideas around skills-based practices with a focus on the re-claiming and learning of traditional trades and techniques via residencies and exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
