Introductory Glassblowing with Mark Eliott

COST: $500/$270*

This two day introductory course will cover many of the basic techniques used for working clear and coloured borosilicate glass in the flame using an oxygen-propane torch; including sculpting, joining, stretching, blowing, encasement and colour mixing. The focus will be on having fun and combining planning with improvisation to produce a variety of objects which you can take home, including: small abstract sculptural forms, vessels, pendants or other wearable objects, glass animal or figurative forms and trees or other branching forms.

Please arrive by 9.45 am wearing long sleeves and long pants from cotton or other non-flammable type cloth. Full covered shoes must be worn and long hair tied back.

Payment details:

Cost is $500 for both days, $270 for one day. This includes all materials. Day 2 is recommended for those who have completed day 1 or have previous experience only.
