HEKKA
HEKKA is an award winning piano/bass/drums unit that seeks to work outside it's own loaded parameters. They explore song forms through a kaleidoscope of loops, beats, rhythm keys & improvisations. The trio - consisting of Novak Manojlovic, Tully Ryan & Jacques Emery, 3 of the most exciting creative voices in Sydney - collectively navigate melodies & structures with a unique empathetic approach, moving through sonic arenas with a rare litheness and unity. Beauty is clarity and communication is always key.
Since releasing their debut EP 'wrecker' in late 2018 and touring the east coast of Australia to much acclaim, HEKKA have become of the most unique ensembles in the country with their idiomatic and broad-minded take on the piano trio format.

OLLIE THORPE
Ollie Thorpe has carved a name for himself as one of Australia’s most unique & forward thinking singer-songwriters. After cutting his teeth as a prolific multi-instrumentalist in the Sydney music community, he developed a distinct individual sound as a vocalist and instrumentalist on both the electric guitar & pedal steel guitar. A broad array of influences are apparent in his diverse output, ranging from contemporary artists such as Daniel Lanois and The Drones to swirling sound worlds reminiscent of Bill Frisell and the old school grit and edge of Ry Cooder.
In this performance, Ollie Thorpe presents a rare intimate exploration of his singular, evocative songwriting process.
