The Australian Psychedelic Society-Sydney is pleased to announce Australia's premier screening of the recently released film 'Bufo Alvarius: The Underground Secret'. The film is a radical testimony of the strongest known natural psychedelic tryptamine: 5-MeO-DMT, which is produced by the Bufo Alvarius toad, native to the Sonoran Desert of northern Mexico and southern Texas. This breathtaking audio-visual adventure is enhanced by immersive animations inspired by the psychoactive effects of this extraordinary substance. Fascinating stories of a group of Czech psychonauts are combined with personal insights of the erudite Stanislav Grof, as well as a contemporary shamanic facilitator from Mexico who has served this medicine to thousands of people from around the world. For many, the experience has been life-changing.

5-MeO-DMT – The Metaphysical Tribes - A presentation by Sebastian Job, PhD, Honorary Associate, Department of Anthropology, University of Sydney, Casual Lecturer, National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney.

Panglossians and Messiahs, Scribblers and Black Diamonds. The 5-MeO-DMT ‘Release’ is a metaphysical Event of the first order. The human psyche responds with different forms of loyalty to this Event. This talk will be an introduction to some of the interpretative stances evident in the contemporary 5-MeO-DMT ‘community.’

The film and presentation will be followed by a Q&A and open forum community discussion.
