Our Art from the Heart of the Cross launch is an open invitation to accept and be accepted, without expectation and without judgement. Our theme of solidarity serves as a reminder of our underlying values: to serve and embrace our community; to provide dignity and respect; and to always welcome everyone exactly as they are.

The theme for this year’s Art from the Heart of the Cross exhibition is solidarity.

Solidarity is about connection, about unity. This means focusing on what we share, rather than searching for, and highlighting, our differences. We all want our loved ones to be safe and well. We all want our people to be cared for, to access support when they need it, and to live in a happy and generous community.

All artists for Art from the Heart of the Cross are people who visit the Uniting Medically Supervised Injecting Centre. Our artists paint, draw and write to express themselves and their circumstances creatively.
