Anaconda
A successful Sydney barrister tries to redeem himself by offering to defend a killer with whom he shares a terribly complex history. The killer is forced to wrestle with the choice of a life behind bars, or revisit the haunting truth of a past that still torments him, in an effort to become a free man. Two people have the chance to mend the wounds of the past at the expense of their futures. If you had everything you ever wanted, would you risk it all to be forgiven?

Inspired by true events surrounding the sexual abuse and extreme bullying scandal that engulfed Sydney’s Trinity Grammar School in 2000, Anaconda takes an honest look at the aftermath of bullying and explores the search for redemption.

Garnering a nomination for Best International Show and official selection for the Best of Fringe at the 2012 Hollywood Fringe Festival, Sarah Doyle’s Anaconda is an important play – dark yet injected with crucial bursts of humour — that explores sexual abuse and bullying among young peers, and exposes the long-term trauma of the victims, abusers and witnesses.
