Absolut Art, the curated digital gallery selling signed, limited edition prints, is pleased to announce a global partnership with London-born, New York-based artist Shantell Martin. The partnership continues Absolut’s 39-year history of supporting the LGBTQ+ community and involves global programming during LGBTQ+ events in Australia,
Sweden, and the United States, with an accompanying print collection on AbsolutArt.com.

Martin, an LGBTQ+ activist, explores identity, intersectionality, and play in her signature black and white drawings that she often stages as performances for a live audience. Collaboration is key to her practice, which has included partnerships with the New York City Ballet, Kendrick Lamar, and Kelly Wearstler.

The partnership launches in Australia this February 2020 with a pop-up exhibition at MCM House, a live light performance at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar and a talk in conversation with Martin and interdisciplinary Australian artist Brook Andrew at 107, during the week of Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

“It's a wonderful honour to celebrate PRIDE in Sydney, Stockholm and New York this year! Now more than ever, especially as a queer, woman of colour, and artist, I feel a deep responsibility to use my craft and my voice to connect, celebrate and honour my community.

Globally, I also feel that PRIDE has become something much greater than we could have ever imagined it would have, not even 20 years ago. So, to also be able to experience it in three different countries, in three different cities (actually three different continents - wow) is also really inspiring, and gives me hope that the conversation will continue and we will continue to rise, together.” says Shantell Martin.
