On June 28, 1965 John Coltrane lead a remarkable ensemble of musicians to create a truly radical work. Radical not simply in its aesthetics, but in its goal. Ascension is a secular, ecstatic, visceral experience - a giant step away from Jazz and into collective union of energy, spirituality, and unbridled sound.
On June 28, 2015, we're going to pay our respects.
