101 Vagina and the Festival is about breaking down the taboo around vaginas and body image shame generally. It confronts the lies we are told about what’s normal and celebrates uniqueness and diversity. It is also about the sharing of story and passing down of knowledge and wisdom.

The 101 Vagina Exhibition comprises 101 beautiful black and white photos of 101 women's vaginas (front on, standing pose), along with a message, story or poem written by each woman from or about her vagina to the world. The messages are candid and span the spectrum of emotions. They are raw and honest and form a small compendium of women’s experiences with their bodies and womanhood in general. This exhibition is also the feature piece in the one day Festival of the Vagina (Sat 29 June, 12-5pm) and will bring together Sydney's diverse community of artists, educators, musicians and performers with the common purpose of celebrating the vagina and removing the taboo and shame that many people still feel.
