107 loves community and creativity but the safety of the people we support and engage with is a priority of utmost importance.

As there is an increased risk of infection, 107 is no longer open to the general public.

WHAT IS 107 DOING?
As there is currently a low risk of infection, 107 is staying open for now.
To do our part in helping minimise exposure to the virus we have been:

  • Setting up hand sanitiser stations in prominent positions in our spaces
  • Installing signage in bathrooms and kitchen areas as a reminder to wash hands thoroughly
  • Regularly disinfecting hard surfaces in public and common areas
  • Reducing resident and staff onsite hours.
  • Continuing to monitor the situation, and what measures other organisations are taking to minimise exposure, to ensure we are doing everything possible to make 107 a healthy, happy place to be over the coming months.

To reduce the risk of exposure we ask everyone to stay alert and to follow best hygiene practice.

1. Stay Alert

  • There are a lot of messages in the media and on socials that can be misleading or false… For specific information on COVID-19 you can read this fact sheet from health.gov.au.
  • Please keep up to date by checking the Department of Health’s website.
  • If you are feeling unwell and displaying any symptoms… DO NOT COME TO THE WORKPLACE or PUBLIC 107 SPACES. PHONE YOUR DOCTOR to arrange medical support and advice. If you need to attend a meeting whilst displaying any symptoms, please arrange to attend by phone or Skype / Zoom etc.
  • Be aware of people who may be at higher risk from travelling, or have been in contact with people who have travelled, in high risk areas. You can check the list of high risk travel areas at www.health.gov.au/covid19-travellers
  • Professional medical support and advice will provide you with the right course of action.

2. Best Ways to Reduce Your Risk of Exposure

Practising good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. You should:

  • wash your hands frequently with soap and water for 20–30 seconds, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.
  • cover your cough and sneeze, dispose of tissues, and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser.
  • if unwell, avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 metres from people). Seek medical support and advice.

In addition you should:

  • try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth.
  • when cleaning, minimise the risk of being infected with coronavirus by wearing gloves and using alcohol-based hand sanitiser before and after wearing gloves.
  • continue healthy habits – exercise, drink water, get plenty of sleep.
