Setec + Fieldings + Edwin Montgomery

SETEC:

Equally influenced by the complex melodies of Joni Mitchell as he is by the cut-n-paste aesthetic of Cornelius or The Avalanches, Setec (the moniker of Sydney-based solo artist Joshua Gibbs) is a musical attempt to blend the organic with the electronic; to meld the fleeting flickers of the past with nostalgia for a future that is yet to happen.

On his new release, Brittle As Bones, Setec utilises found-sound percussion alongside looped acoustic instruments, fading samples and wailing, cascading layers of his own voice to create a unique, headphone-focused sonic universe any music lover will find easy to inhabit.

Having already previously released the EP “I’ll Be Good” on Sydney’s Wood And Wire label (whose roots lie with New Weird Australia), his music is already receiving great positive attention. It has been played on Triple J and FBi radio, as well as featured in promotional videos for Triple J’s One Night Stand on ABC.

Fieldings (aka Lucinda Hearn) is a writer, producer from Sydney. She has written and played in acts such as The Understudy and boatfriends. In September, Fieldings was selected to play BigSound '14. She was named one of Double J's highlights of the showcase.

Hearn has shared stages with Juana Molina, Mark Kozelek, Neon Indian, An Horse, Collarbones, Holly Throsby, Kira Puru, and Pikelet.
