What would Australia be like if the many nations and empires that visited before the English had stayed on the continent? With research and reflection each artist responds to their own personal alternative history of the Australian continent and its cultural identity. Through constructing this hypothetical narrative of Australian history, the Eurocentric foundations of Australian identity will be critically investigated. Specifically, by supplanting the dominance of 'west' to 'east' and inverting the ‘whiteness’ of contemporary, Australian identity to 'the other'.

Opening Wednesday 16 April 6-8pm
Exhibition Continues until Sunday 27 April
