AAC//107: The Sticks + Broken Mountain
Introducing AAC//107, a monthly showcase of progressive and experimental music presented by Art As Catharsis and 107.
Playing our inaugural show are The Sticks and Broken Mountain.
The Sticks play a futuristic form of live, electronic music - a twisted blend of glitchy beats, shimmering synths, and spacious basslines that I dearly want to call ‘cyborg jazz.’
The trio features Alon Ilsar (Ground Patrol, Gauche) playing his custom-built gestural electronic drumkit, the AirSticks, alongside Daniel Pliner (Planeface, Mister Ott) on synth and Josh Ahearn (Squat Club) on bass guitar.
Supporting are Broken Mountain, whose raw and experimental neo-soul brings to mind a mix of Dirty Projectors, James Blake and The Knife.
This show is all ages friendly: kids under 18 get in free.
