Curated by artist Jason Wing, Blak Mirror is an exhibition featuring emerging, early career, regional, local and interstate multidisciplinary artist reflecting their view of Australian society in through a black lens.

Jason Wing is a Sydney-based artist who strongly identifies with his Chinese and Aboriginal heritage. Wing began as a street artist and has since expanded his practice to incorporate photomedia, installation and painting. Influenced by his bi-cultural upbringing, Wing explores the ongoing challenges that impact his wider community.

Near and Now

Near and Now is a suite of four short-form, night- long performance events – some with associated exhibitions – curated by Sydney’s independent artists and artist-led companies. Taking over the venue through different approaches to performance, Near and Now is for local Sydney audiences who love their freshly-made, edgy performance alive and kicking – from installation, to intersectional drag, to post-dramatic theatre… with DJs, dancing and drinks ‘til late. Presented by Intimate Spectacle.

A three day curated program across multiple spaces within 107, focused around the theme ‘Ecstasy’. This exciting program will include an art exhibition, live art in the glass stairwell, dance performances by ‘Whip It’ collective, tantalizing DJ and live act music performances with more still to be announced! Curated by Clayton Thomas, Julie Vulcan, Nick Wales and Ryuichi Fujimura.

The New Plot

The New Plot: Bringing new Australian stories to the stage by developing the talent that makes them possible.

107 Projects and Actors Centre Australia (ACA) present The New Plot, a new development award for Australian Playwrights. This initiative has been created to foster professional development for writers and actors to bring new Australian stories to the stage.

Selected plays will be performed in front of audiences in March – April 2017.

Hack Sounds

Using the latest electronic tools Hack Sounds combines music education, collaboration, technology and inclusive design to explore accessible ways to create music.

Educators from Heaps Decent, Ableton and graduates from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, alongside our existing facilitators, will support basic introduction to the tools through to more sophisticated skills development.
