Introductory Glass Blowing Workshop with Mark Eliott

This two day introductory course will cover many of the basic techniques used for working clear and coloured borosilicate glass in the flame using an oxygen-propane torch; including sculpting, joining, stretching, blowing, encasement and colour mixing. The focus will be on having fun and combining planning with improvisation to produce a variety of objects which you can take home, including: small abstract sculptural forms, vessels, pendants or other wearable objects, glass animal or figurative forms and trees or other branching forms.

Please arrive by 10.45 am wearing long sleeves and long pants from cotton or other non-flammable type cloth. Full covered shoes must be worn and long hair tied back. Payment can be made by direct deposit to Wild Ibis Glass BSB: 062124 ACC: 10378502.

Day 2 is recommended for those who have completed day 1 or have previous experience only.

Cost: $550 for 2 days or $290 per day all materials included. (Unemployed and pensioners $500 for both days or $270 per day).
