Artist Callout: 107 Objects

107 Objects is 107’s online store and permanent exhibition space. Their mission is to create a sustainable, accessible platform for emerging creatives to fund their practice.

Founded by a team of creative ladies in 2017, 107 Objects is 100% volunteer run, with a focus on sustainable production practices and low-waste packaging. They take a small commission, but the majority of the profits go directly to the artist.

Once production costs are taken care of, the remainder of funds go towards searching out and commissioning brand new work from artists they love.

How it works

107 Objects works on a competitive consignment model. We use this consignment fee for styling, photographing and marketing your work, storage, handling, packaging and postage.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for work from emerging artists and creatives living and working in the local Sydney area. We also wish to extend this callout to rural artists, living outside of the major metropolitan areas.

Our curatorial ethos is broad and inclusive, and we’re not limited to any particular medium or price point. Generally speaking, we give preference to work that is:

  • New, surprising, subversive, inventive and different
  • Produced in Australia using locally sourced materials and/or Australian creative talent
  • Not available for sale on any other online platform (not essential)
  • Produced with low-waste and environmentally friendly principles in mind

As part of 107 Projects, 107 Objects is also committed to diversity and inclusivity.
