Issue 4: 2019
107 Presents takes audiences beyond the expected to experience a curated multi-arts program that is innovative, experimental, enticing and accessible. It celebrates the power of creativity to connect community, and showcases Sydney as a creative city to live, work and play.
In 2017-18, 107 Presents funded 7 new artist projects, welcomed 22,589 audience members and generated over $159,667 of value for participating artists, curators and creative workers. Read more in our annual report.

Art Somewhere is a creative hangout where all levels and abilities are welcome to experiment and learn creative practices in a non-structured teaching environment.

The Green Thread – Taking Shape
Ongoing
‘The Green Thread – Taking Shape’, is an artistic example of how communities can gather together in celebration of significant events of the yearly calendar. Creative workshops hosted by Mirvac and 107 welcomed residents to decorate shapes that celebrate Green Square and it’s festivities.
You can check-out the developing installation just off Ebsworth Street, near Green Square Station.
Residency Program
Ongoing
Through an ongoing series of artist residencies, 107 is able to support a diverse range of new Australian work. In 2019, residents include artists Nicole Monks (above, credit Alex Wisser), Jeff McCann, playwright Sarah Doyle and cinematographer Jamie Gray.

INTERIM, a new performance work written and developed in collaboration with residents of the Waterloo Housing Estates, is currently under development at 107 Redfern.
Art Somewhere
Every second Wednesday
Art Somewhere is a safe place where everyone can experiment and learn creative practices in a non-structured teaching environment. All levels and abilities are welcome and participants can arrive with a creative intention or choose to be guided by the facilitators.
Hack Sounds
Using the latest electronic tools, Hack Sounds combines music education, collaboration, technology and inclusive design to explore accessible ways to create music.

Produced by Milk Crate Theatre and supported under The New Plot Residency, INTERIM is a new performance work encompassing the stories and experiences of current residents of the Waterloo Redfern Housing Estates.
Green Thread Outdoor Cinema
April 12 & 13
Taking place during Youth Week, the Green Thread Outdoor Cinema will bring the Green Square community together for a free screening, popcorn, face painting & music.
Speakers’ Corner 2.0

Speakers’ Corner has been a Sydney institution since 1878. The first in a new series, Speakers’ Corner 2.0 will invite members of the community to get up on their (sometimes literal) soapbox and talk about the issues that matter to them most.

The Eviction is the second in a series of free, open and inclusive film screenings for the whole community. Supported by WAGEC (Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre) and Two Good Co.

miyarnu bundara at Sculpture By The Sea: Cottesloe
March 1 – 18
Through sculpture and activation, miyarnu bundara invited audiences to look up at the night sky and share in the star stories and miyarnu* which unites us all. Supported under the 107 Presents Artist Residency Program, this participatory work on Cottesloe Beach celebrated the depth and richness of Aboriginal astronomy.
Play Fare
March 2
On March 2, Play Fare brought together more than 20 indie game developers to showcase their games and meet other members of the community. The program, supported by Mountain Goat Beer, included artist talks, live music, and a selection of classic arcade games provided by 1989 Arcade Bar.
Marina Square Hoarding
November 24, 2018
107 Presents contributed an interactive visual art activation and installation as part of Wentworth Point’s opening day for their new Marina Sqaure shopping centre. The piece supported local Sydney artists and brought community together in a collective experience.
